Brian K King

President / CEO

Brian King has been employed with Barton Mutual Insurance Company since 1993. He began with the company as an underwriter, and he was installed as President/CEO in January 2018. In his years in the insurance industry, Brian has achieved the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Professional Farm Mutual Manager (PFMM), and Farm Mutual Director Certification (FMDC) designations.

Dorothy Spivey

Vice President / COO

Dorothy Spivey began her career at Barton Mutual Insurance Company in 1993. Dorothy has primarily worked in the Claims Department, and transitioned to Claims Manager in 2012. She was installed as Vice President/COO in 2018. Dorothy has earned the Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU), Associate in Management (AIM), Associate in Insurance Services (AIS), and Professional Farm Mutual Manager (PFMM) designations.

Jacqui Nichols

Treasurer / CFO

Jacqui Nichols joined Barton Mutual Insurance Company in 1994. Over the years with the company, she has worked in various departments, but the majority of her time was spent working with numbers in data analysis and accounting. She was promoted to Treasurer/CFO in 2013. Jacqui has earned the Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC), Professional Farm Mutual Manager (PFMM), and Farm Mutual Director Certification (FMDC) designations.

Jeremy Goodell

Director of IT / CIO

Jeremy Goodell has been employed with Barton Mutual Insurance Company since 2018 as the CIO / Director of IT. Jeremy began his IT career in 1998 while finishing his degree in Computer Information Systems from Missouri Valley College. In 2003, Jeremy moved into IT management and in 2010 moved into a senior leadership role. In 2024, Jeremy earned his Professional Farm Mutual Manager (PFMM) designation.

Jason Powers

Johnson County, KS

Jason Powers (Johnson County, KS) was appointed to the Board in March 2013. He has served as Chairman since 2024. Jason has been an employee benefits consultant for more than 20 years. He is the Chief Business Development Officer of Legacy Brokers in Lenexa, KS.

Kevin DeVoy

Linn County

Kevin DeVoy (Linn County) was installed on the Barton board in 2001. Kevin is an independent insurance agent and co-owner and operator of DeVoy-Baker Insurance. He has been an agent with Barton for 30 years.

Randy Baker

Dunklin County

Randy Baker (Dunklin County) was installed in September 2018. Randy is the owner of T. R. Baker Insurance Agency in Kennett. He is a past President of the Missouri Association of Independent Agents (MAIA) and currently serves on their Board of Directors.

David Bub

St. Louis County

David Bub (St Louis County) was installed in March 2013. David is an attorney in St Louis, who has represented Barton for more than 20 years. David is a familiar speaker within the insurance industry.

Tom Shaw

Barton County

Tom Shaw (Barton County) was installed in March 2020. After military service, Tom began a career with Barton Mutual Insurance in 1971 and served as President from 1986 until retiring in 2012.

Ray Tubaugh

Jasper County

Ray Tubaugh (Jasper County) was installed in March 2015. Ray has over 30 years of experience in commercial and agriculture lending. He currently serves as Senior Vice President and Commercial Loan Manager for Arvest Bank in Joplin. Ray is still actively engaged in the family farm operation in Northeast Jasper County.
