Veterans DayNovember 12, 2019
Yesterday was the day set aside to honor all veterans of our armed forces. First declared a national holiday in 1938, Veterans Day is celebrated on November 11 because of the armistice signed in 1918 to cease hostile engagement in World War I. Though it was not the official end to the Great War, it was a time when the world celebrated the end of hostilities. To learn more about this holiday and how it came to be, visit https://www.va.gov/opa/vetsday/vetdayhistory.asp.We want to say a special thank you to all who have served our country in war. Some gave all, and to their families we want to say that our prayer is that you may be comforted by the memory of your brave loved ones. We are truly living in the land of the free because of the brave.
