  • Proper Coverage for Winter PerilsNovember 15, 2017

Are you properly covered for damage resulting from winter storms? Heavy snowfall, cold temperatures, and ice accumulation can cause significant damage to your property. Losses can include collapse of a structure due to the weight of ice, sleet, and snow; frozen pipes; trees on houses due to ice covered limbs; and loss of refrigerated food due to power outages. Most basic policies will not cover all of these types of losses, although endorsements may be available to add coverage. You should check with your agent to make sure you are properly covered before Old Man Winter strikes.

The description of coverages and programs are purposely brief and are subject to specific policy provisions, limitations and exclusions that can only be expressed in the policy itself.
